AJAC – Hyundai Elantra Wins 2012 Canadian Car of the Year Award
An all-Korean trio battled it out for the coveted annual AJAC honour of ‘Canadian Car of the Year’. 
We have to give props to almost 2200 AutoBlog Canada readers who participated in our online Poll and successfully predicted the winner with over half of our voters choosing the Hyundai Elantra over other finalists Kia Optima and Hyundai Accent.
The Hyundai Elantra takes the crown from last year’s winner the Chevrolet Cruze, and if you see a trend emerging, you’re not alone. Canadians love buying compact sedans and for several years running now, AJAC’s finalists have been a reflection of what Canadians like to buy. The Hyundai Elantra was the 2nd best selling vehicle in Canada for 2011 behind only the Honda Civic. Good design, good performance and good value seems like a simple recipe, but striking the perfect balance can be an elusive target. Congratulations to Hyundai Canada for winning a well deserved award!
