CAW Getting Closer To Unionizing Honda’s Ontario Plant

Honda’s assembly plant in Alliston, Ontario which builds the Honda Civic, CR-V and Acura MDX, ZDX vehicles may be moving closer to being unionized.

Canadian Auto Workers President Ken Lewenza says his labor group is drawing closer to organizing workers at a Honda assembly plant in Ontario…”We’re getting some enthusiastic and strong support, but we’re not there yet.”

Perhaps of equal or greater concern than industry wages is the continued rise of the Canadian dollar. The stronger the Loonie is, the more expensive it is to make cars in Canada for the auto makers. The Canadian government has thus far not made moves to deflate the currency.
