2013 Lincoln MKZ Concept

The usual caveats apply given this is purely a concept vehicle. However, if the verbiage coming from Lincoln HQ can be believed, this Lincoln MKZ concept which was recently introduced at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit is on the fast-track to hitting showrooms sometime around 2013.

There has been a lot of talk about revamping the Lincoln brand and aesthetic in recent months and through this concept we are clearly getting a glimpse into this upcoming transformation.

“With the Lincoln MKZ Concept, we are not introducing a new car. We are essentially introducing a new brand,” said Derrick Kuzak, Ford Motor Company group vice president for Global Product Development. “The MKZ Concept is the next step in the reinvention of Lincoln, something we’ve been quietly but aggressively pursuing.”

The Lincoln MKZ hit a high-point in Canada in 2006 and annual sales since have maintained those levels but not exceeded them. Assuming this gorgeous concept is put to production, we’re downright giddy over Lincoln’s new design direction.
